Look at my fists-clenched tight!
I have been stewing all day over her conversation.
I rehash the words and what I wish I had said.
And now I have caught myself in a fit of revenge.
I have been scheming all day, haven’t I?
Am I so easily bruised and so doggedly proud
that I cannot turn the other cheek?
Have I spent one moment putting the best construction
on her acts,
looking for a reason for her behavior?
“Vengeance is mine,” says the Lord.
I had better let you take over this revenge for me, Lord,
because it is consuming all that is loving in me.
Forgive me.

“In your anger do not sin”:
Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry
