Nehemiah Views the Ruins of Jerusalem’s Walls, 1866, Gustave Doré, via Wikimedia Commons
O God of unchangeable power and eternal light,
look favorably upon your whole Church,
that wonderful and sacred mystery;
and by the peaceful operation of your perpetual providence
carry out the work of man’s salvation;
and let the whole world feel and see
that things which were cast down are being made new;
and that all things are returning into unity
through him by whom all things were made,
even your Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Gelasian Sacramentary, 5th century, liturgy the Merovingian church (France)

So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.
That’s an interesting match of prayer and art. Tell me about it.

Ron, our sermon series is on Nehemiah – yesterday was chapter 3 and all the people rebuilding the wall. The application is to our side of the cross and the church being built up
