Lord, I pledge to be as forgiving
as You have forgiven me.
Never let me betray anyone – and if I do, Lord,
please help me to say at once that I am sorry.
Teach me that You always forgive,
no matter what the sin.
May I be quick to forgive others.
I am reminded that if I do not forgive others,
neither will You forgive me,
and my soul will remain forever filled
with the tense corruption
that lack of forgiveness brings.
