a weary faith

You call me to follow you;
   you wait for me at every turn of the road;
   you add the spring to my step
   and you pace me when the going is hard.
Bear with me when my dragging feet betray
   not that I am tired,
   but that my heart is not in the journey
   and the Kingdom is not my goal.

Stephen Orchard,  English minister and author
The Westminster Collection of Christian Prayers

Look at my servant, whom I strengthen.
    He is my chosen one, who pleases me.
I have put my Spirit upon him.
    He will bring justice to the nations.
He will not shout
    or raise his voice in public.
He will not crush the weakest reed
    or put out a flickering candle.
He will bring justice to all who have been wronged.
