Here we are in front of you, Holy Spirit.
We feel the weight of our sickness,
but we are united together in your name.
Come to us, help us, enter our hearts.
Teach us what we should do,
what path we should follow.
Do for us what you ask us to do.
Be the only one to offer and guide our decisions,
because only you – with the Father and the Son –
have a glorious and holy name.
Do not allow us to miss out on doing what is right,
you who loves order and peace.
Don’t let ignorance lead us away from you.
Don’t let human sympathy bias us.
Don’t let people or positions influence us.
Keep us intimately close to you,
using the gift of your grace,
so that we may be as one with you
and so that nothing can separate us from your truth.
Isidore of Seville, c. 560 – 636, Archbishop of Seville, Spain
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth,
for he will not speak on his own authority,
but whatever he hears he will speak,
and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
All that the Father has is mine;
therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
