Strengthen for your service, Lord,
the hands which have stretched out to receive your holy things.
that they may daily bring forth a harvest of good works to your glory.
Grant that the ears which have heard the sound of your songs
may be closed to the voice of clamour and dispute;
that the eyes which have seen your great love
may behold the fulfillment they hope for;
that the tongues which have sung your praise
may ever speak the truth;
that the feet which have trodden your courts
may walk in the light;
and the bodies which have tasted your risen body
may be restored to newness of life.
And may your great love remain with us for ever,
so that we may return abundant praise to your Majesty.
Amen and Amen.
Liturgy of the Syro-Malabar rite, 3rd-16th century India
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,
since as members of one body you were called to peace.
And be thankful.
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly
as you teach and admonish one another
with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit,
singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed,
do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
