May the very God of All,
who spoke by the Holy Spirit through the prophets,
who sent Him forth upon the Apostles
on the day of Pentecost in this place,
Himself send Him forth at this time also upon you;
and by Him keep us also,
imparting His benefit in common to us all,
that we may ever render up the fruits of the Holy Spirit ,
in Christ Jesus our Lord,
by whom and with whom,
together with the Holy Spirit
be glory to the Father,
both now, and ever,

Acts 2:1-4

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
