Lord Jesus, we thank you that you,
the eternal Word of God,
became flesh and dwelt among us.
Thank you for the Nativity celebration,
that you identified with all our joys and sorrows
and revealed your Father to us.
You, who are the exact representation
of the unapproachable God
shared his message with us
and were able to remain fully God
while becoming full man.
Thank you for the signs around us
that remind us of you –
the Christmas tree pointing toward heaven
and the lights remind us
that you are the light of the world.

_______________
Long ago, at many times and in many ways,
God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,
but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son,
whom he appointed the heir of all things,
through whom also he created the world.
He is the radiance of the glory of God
and the exact imprint of his nature,
and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.
