Lord I’m so sad.
Since he died I feel so empty inside.
I can’t sleep properly.
I don’t want to see anybody.
Will you help me Lord?
Will you give me that special peace
which Jesus spoke about?
Help me to feel certain
that with you beside me
everything is going to be all right.
That we are all in your hands,
and that you will never let us go,
even when we die.
Help me to start live again Lord.
I know it won’t be the same,
but with your help I think I can cope.
Please let me know that you are with me
every moment of day and night,
and that your strength will see me through.

On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days. Now Bethany was less than two miles from Jerusalem, and many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them in the loss of their brother. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home.
“Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
