O blessed Jesus,
Give me stillness of my soul in you.
Let your mighty calmness reign in me;
Rule me, O King of gentleness, King of peace.
Give me control, great power of self-control,
Control over my words, thoughts and actions.
From all irritability, lack of meekness, lack of gentleness,
dear Lord, deliver me.
By your own deep patience, give me patience.
Make me in this and all things more and more like you.

O Lord, my heart is not lifted up;
my eyes are not raised too high;
I do not occupy myself with things
too great and too marvelous for me.
But I have calmed and quieted my soul,
like a weaned child with its mother;
