Most loving Father,
who has taught us to dread nothing
except for the loss of You,
preserve me
from faithless fears and worldly anxieties,
from corrupting passions and
an unholy love of earthly treasures;
and grant that no clouds of this mortal life
may hide me from the light of that love which is immortal
and which You has manifested unto us
in Your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
William Bright, 1824-1901, English Anglican Priest

So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’
or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
For the pagans run after all these things,
and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as well.
