Jesus
we would enter Gethsemane with you
on behalf of all who are frightened and anxious
all who are prone to panic;
those wounded and hurt in life
all who suffer loneliness
all little children afraid of the dark
all elderly people who are prey to irrational fears
and fantasies.
Jesus, by your presence in Gethsemane
and by your presence in that other garden of resurrection,
we thank you that you remain alive and present to us
in the midst of all our fears and anxieties.
John Carden, Anglican priest, editor World Council of Churches

Do not be anxious about anything,
but in every situation, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
