How many times, Lord Jesus, have you renewed my nature!
How many times have you saved me
    from the furnace of evil passions burning within me!
O Lord, in truth there is no number
    and no measure of your mercies to me.
May I for my part be faithful to you.
May I be humble, not proud;
    meek, not irritable;
    industrious, not lazy;
    merciful, not judgmental;
    generous, not mean;
    and obedient, not willful.

John Sergieff, (aka John of Kronstadt) 1829 – 1908, Russian Orthodox priest
