Lord and Master, you know well that I scarcely know what is good for me,
but now that I am thinking about beginning this new venture,
how will I know it is right unless you yourself guide me with your grace?
Grant me, Lord, your guidance in all things related to this matter,
so that I do not simply follow my personal inclinations and come to grief;
but rather you yourself guide me and hold me safe
so that all I do will be in accordance with your good will.
If this plan is good in your eyes,
give me the desire for it from my heart.
If it is not,
then remove the desire for it from my heart.
You know all things, Lord, and nothing is concealed from you.
I am your servant; deal with me as you see right,
for I know that I can never win peace or success
unless I join myself to your blessed will.
Teach me, Lord, to say on each occasion: “Not as I will, but as you will.”
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory;
of the Father , and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Now and ever to the ages of ages. Amen.
