Set a watch, O Lord, upon our tongue:
that we never speak the cruel word
    which is untrue;
or, being true, is not the whole truth;
or, being wholly true, is merciless;
    for the love of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 4:29

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths,
but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs,
that it may benefit those who listen.
