O God our Father,
help us to nail to the cross of your dear Son
the whole body of our death,
the wrong desires of our heart,
the sinful devisings of our mind,
the corrupt apprehensions of our eyes,
the cruel words of our tongue,
the disordered works of our hands and feet;
that our old man being crucified and done away with,
allows our new man to live and grow into your glorious likeness
that of your Son, Jesus Christ,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, world without end.

and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away.
