The Thankful Poor, by Henry Ossawa Tanner via Wikimedia Commons
O Lord, our heavenly Father, the giver of all good gifts,
we praise and thank you for all your blessings to us.
Forgive us that so often we are more ready to turn to you
in times of trouble and need
rather than to thank you in the good times.
No matter what happens to us, teach us to be thankful.
Help us not to take for granted your gift of life itself;
our health and strength;
the love an support of family and friends;
the beauty of your creation.
Above all, thank you for your greatest gift –
the way of forgiveness you have provided
by sending your Son to be our Savior.
You give us so much, dear Lord.
Help me to give you something in return –
the love of our hearts,
a willingness to serve you
and to share your love with others.
Grant us day by day a true spirit of thankfulness.
Jean Fenton, Ireland
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Moving prayer coupled with a powerful artistic expression of gratefulness. May thanks be born on our lips continually.

I am going to read this at our Thanksgiving celebration as the pray of thanks before the meal.
Thanks for sending this and all the other prayers.
God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving
