Creative God, thank you for ocean waves
and how they invite me to body surf.
I crave the exhilaration and fearfulness
of being caught up and carried along
by forces far more powerful than myself.
Your Holy Spirit is a little bit like that
directing me towards people you care about
sometimes gently, to someone in need of a kind word,
sometimes forcefully, sharing in something difficult,
always in love.
Draw me into your currents, Holy Spirit.
Sweep me off my feet, Spirit of God.
Invite me today to participate in your redemption work
and the joy of journeying alongside people
in Jesus’ name.
