Lord and Master, you know well that I scarcely know what is good for me,
but now that I am thinking about beginning on this new venture,
how will I know it is right unless you yourself guide me with your grace?
Grant me, Lord, your guidance in all things related to this matter,
so that I do not simply follow my personal inclinations and come to grief;
but rather you yourself guide me and hold me safe
so that what I do will be in accordance with your good will.
If this plan is good in your eyes, give me your blessing
to bring it to a successful end.
If it is not, then remove the desire for it is only from my heart.
You know all things, Lord, and nothing is concealed from you.
I am your servant; deal with me as you see right,
for I know that I can never win peace or success
unless I join myself to your blessed will.
Teach me, Lord, to say on each occasion:
“Not as I will, but as you will.”
For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory;
of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
Now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good success
in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment to your bones.
